Quinoa - superfood

the reason which makes quinoa superfood is the fact that it is complete source of protein, which is important for them who don't like/eat meat

Today I bought quinoa for the first time. I spend early Saturday in different shops and this particular product catched my attention.
After coming back home I check what exactly can I expect from this groat and results was pleasantly surprising.

Quinoa spesification

Quinoa is grain-like Asian crop/plant. It is only grain-like, (more like an amarathus) because it is not cereal itself.
It is gluten free and rich in protein. It is a complete proteins source, what means that you can find there any essential amino acids* (good news for vegetarians). Beside that it is rich in iron, magnesium and calcium.

* normally, non-meat sources of protein are not complete, what means that amino-acids profile of protein is not complete which makes that protein less valuable

Nutrition value

In 100 grams of product there are 360 calories, 12g of protein, 60g of carbs, 7g of fat.

Preparation

Quinoas preparation is easy. It is good to rinse quinoa seeds before preparation. Then you have to cover quinoa with water in proportion 1 to 2 (2 times more water than crops). Cook it for 15 minutes until quinoa absorb all the water.

How to eat?

You can use quinoa as a substitude for grains/cuscous/rice. You can served it with meat or as an ingredient of salad. You can also try to mix it with your morning oats.

Were to buy it?

I bought mine in healthy food store, so you should check your local shop with eco food. As far as I kno, some traditional shops also have quinoa in their offer.
