Morning classics - omelette
| fluffy omelette for perfect Sunday breakfast :) |
It is my training-off weekend and when I don't train then I most often.. cook :) So there is a time for some morning breakfasts classic - omelette.
Very easy recipe: just take amount of eggs you need (I took 6 for 2 persons).

Break the egg and separate eggs yolks from whites. Then whip egg whites with a pinch of salt. To have more carbs and more filling omelette you can add a big spoon of flour to your egg yolks.
Delicately mix whipped whites with egg yolks.
Fry omelette on a pan for about 4 minutes on each side.
Serve either with sweat or seasoned - yesterday I served mine with caned beans in tomato souse (Heinz).
Today it was a sweat variation - with cottage cheese and low calories jam.
Diet tip
For diet version - use more egg whites and 2 time less egg yolks (for example 4 white eggs and 2 yolks). You will spare calories from yolks.Thursday, December 6, 2012
Santa Claus Day
Happy Santa Claus Day!
I don't think it is celebrating here in Scandinavia, but in Poland it is the first sight of Christmas! Norwegian have their advent caledars and small gifts for each day and Poles have Santa Claus Day when Santa is coming with small treats and putting them to children's shoes. Shoes has to be cleaned an evening before - he would not put a present into dirty shoe though!
And even though we are far away from Poland, Santa also came to us ;) He brought a gift for my beloved today - real man treats - a pack of Snickers, beef jerky and Chunk of Protein :D

Beside celebrating Santa Claus Day, I bring little Christmas atmosphere yesterday by doing gingerbread for the first time in this year :)

Pomegranate
Thanks to my work colleague (thanks Istvan!) I have a chance to try another exotic fruit (right after sharon fruit). This time that was pomegranate.
Of course in the restaurant, I have try it many times, as well as drinking pomegranate juices and so on. However, I didn't eat it independently, always as a ingredient of bigger dish.
| There are to types of pomegranate - brighter and darker version. This one is brighter and has seeds which are easier in consumption. |
Pomegranate fruit is apple shape and size, but has a thick crust. Now there are more and more researches which says that pomegranate is a super-fruit - that mean that beside taste it provides many other benefits for our body. It is rich in vitamins, organic acids and iron.
Pomegranate juice if rich in polyphenols - powerful antioxidants naturally occurs in plants. Consumption of polyphenols-rich products slows ageing process and increases body's immunity. What is more, consuming pomegranate reduce risk of atherosclerosis and helps keeping cholesterol level under control.

Autumn breakfast
![]() |
| My today's autumn breakfast |
Cranberry is a symbol of autumn for me. Those fresh, aromatic berries can be bought in many shops now and what is even better, they are very cheap this time of a year. So I won't miss the opportunity to incorporate them into my breakfast.
